I bought these curtains for a room that the sun rises in and I can't stand it. I like to sleep in and when the sun rises in my bedroom its all over with. I have bought so many so called black out curtains only to be disappointed. I was weary to buy these online since I couldn't feel or see them, but I thought why not. I am so happy I did. I just bought my second pair today since I found out i needed two pair to go across my whole bedroom sliding glass door. If you buy thee you will not be disappointed!!!

Had 2 problems with these: the tie-ups don't have any cord system, you pull up the curtain and tie it - mine are too high for that. Also, the color is nice but there's definitely a kid of polyester sheen to these. I found the perfect ones for $20/panel at BB & B - regular open/close - happier with those, but ymmv.

I bought a couple of these curtains a few months ago for my city apartment with older windows. First, the good news. They are very true to the color shown online. I bought mine in burgundy, and I am very happy with how they look - both in color and in style. Secondly, the curtains are made from a nice material that keeps light from the street lamps out of my room. On the down side, these curtains are not made from a particularly heavy or insulating material. I really didn't feel much of a difference in my semi-drafty apartment until I finally gave in and put up plastic on the windows. So, overall, a good buy as long as you're not looking to save a bunch of money on your heating bill.

I get up at 5:00 am for work, so need to be asleep around 9:00 pm. My bedroom window faces south. In the summer, with the later sunset, it was almost impossible to get to sleep early enough. Of course, the neighbor's bright lights on their garage, directly outside the bedroom window, didn't help matters any.



These shades block out the light and darken the room so I can sleep - and keep the early sunrise from waking me on the weekends!

These really are phenomenal drapes. I was very surprised at how luxurious the fabric felt (almost satin-like to feel although not shiny or cheap looking), and after washing and drying, the wrinkles completely fell out. Love the bronze grommet tops which go perfectly with our curtain rods. A few other pluses: the fabric is nice and light weight so it doesn't bend the bracket down over time on the wall. It also is rather thin material, especially for blackout drapes, and so the tie backs really aren't even needed - the drapes easily pull to the side and stay there. The navy is beautiful - not too drab or too bright. And they DO block the light extremely well. I really have absolutely no complaints and am extremely happy with my purchase.

The curtains are awesome on so many levels. First off, I love the way they completely black out the light in our bedroom. For years, we lived in a bedroom that was always bright and never thought that a black out curtain could be made of such a quality fabric and color AND make day seem like night. So now sleeping in on weekends and holidays is sooo much easier. Also, the curtains open wide as the fabric folds nicely so I can see the view of the ocean from my window unlike my last set of drapes that gathered so much that the view was somewhat blocked. I completely recommend these curtains. Purchase them, you won't be disappointed, at least if these are your issues.

Okay - so I read the 3 bad reviews on this product. I bought these curtains for my daughter's room because she is extremely sensitive to the light and wakes up as soon as the sun starts to rise. After purchasing them, I was wandering through Target and suffered serious buyers remorse when I saw "blackout curtains" for half the price! Well, I bought those, intending to return these as soon as they arrived. Boy, was I disappointed when the Target "blackout" curtains barely blocked half the light! When these arrived, we promptly removed our Target curtains, placing them in the playroom instead (where she has sleepovers) and installed these. The room went black - just like in the hotels! The curtains hang nicely and although they are not quite the color pictured, they work well in her room. It's summer now, school has let out, and my baby has been sleeping until noon! Wow! What a difference. Oh, and I checked Wallyworld. Those curtains that are half the price - are only one panel! By the time you buy two panels, you've paid the same price anyway - or nearly so. Oh, and one other thing, my daughter's room, which was the hottest room in the house in the summer, and the coldest in the winter - is now quite chill in the summer, thanks to the insulating quality of these panels. I'll post a video review as soon as my daughter cleans her room!

I ordered these curtains in the brown color. I was very concerned about the quality since other reviews were not favorable. I hate cheap looking stuff all together, but these curtains were FAR FROM CHEAP LOOKING! I was very pleased by the drape, weight, finish and overall appearance of these curtains. I only needed one panel for a window, but since it came with two I had to be creative. I ended up using the second panel along with a tension rod to cover our stairway entrance at night. We found that our TV noise traveled up the stair way and was just as loud upstairs as it was down. So, I used the curtain panel as a "door" to help absorb sound. I was so excited that it actually WORKED! I'm planning on ordering more for other rooms in the house and like the price very much. I would recommend to a friend.

I bought these curtains for my bedroom when I got moved to night shift. The pros are that they are soft, not paper or plastic-y feeling, move nicely, and the color goes well with the rest of my bedroom. However, if you are expecting total darkness, you will need to put another set of solid curtains behind these, as they only block about 80% of the light coming in. I had an old set of the plain white plastic type blackout curtains, and when I hung both sets together, I got complete and total darkness. Overall, good buy for the money.

They do block out sunlight, but not 100% of it. I've been in hotels that have blackening curtains that make a room pitch black. These DO NOT do that. They darken the room but I can still see light through them. Too bad!

We love our new blackout curtains. They do a great job of blocking out the street lights at night and the sun in the early morning. The chocolate color is a nice rich brown. The grommets slide easily along the rod. I think they would do a better job of reflecting back the heat from the summer sun if the outside surface were white or reflective. We have only been using them since March so the coming summer weather will be the test.

I am always concerned about buying things online since you cant get a great color shade judgement online and you cant feel the quality of the material. I dont usually write reviews but these were so wonderfully unexpected I figured they deserved a comment. I bought the brown colored curtains. They are a wonderfully soft thick material...they hang really well and feel super nice. We have a really bright street light right outside our window at night and have always struggled with blocking out that light. These are so wonderful (sigh...smile) that at night now you cant see your hand in front of your face in the bedroom. Love it. Love love love it! I do agree with a past review that the grommets should have been nickle. They are a brass color and dont look bad with the brown. I just like silver colored grommets better. That however will not stop me from buying these curtains for all the rest of the bedrooms in our house. Very pleased and would highly recommend.
